Mrs. Jewell Keene Mathews, 78, of Rt. 6 died Saturday morning in Heber Springs. Born at Suphur Rock, she was a homemaker and a member of the Landmark Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Mathews of Batesville; four sons, Herbert Hays of Hutchinson Mountain, Kenneth Hays and Neil Hays, both of Wichita, Kan., and Jim Hays of Rt. 7; a brother, Royall Keene of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Evelyn Williams of Brownsville, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Dewayne Strother, Monroe Strother, Bill Cook, Billy Wayne Scroggins, Ricky Scroggins and Noel McGee.
