Twister Hits County; One Dead, Four Hurt
A roaring tornado ripped through the southern portion of Independence County late Tuesday afternoon, leaving one person dead, four injured, and a path of destruction that may exceed the $200,000 mark when all the damages are assayed. Dead is Mrs. Clara Lambert, 78, of Hutchinson Mountain, some 15 miles southwest of here. Mrs. Lambert, whose home was destroyed in the storm, was dead on arrival at a Batesville hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Lambert, 79, who was fatally injured last Tuesday in the storm, were held Sunday at the Hutchinson Church, with Mr. Clyde Hance officiating. Burial was in Hutchinson Cemetery by Crouch Funeral Home. Mrs. Lambert was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by four sons, Jim of LaBlanca, Tex., Wiley of Hutchinson, and Amos and Edward of Bakersfield, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Bob Rogers and Mrs. Orville Stroud of Bakersfield; two brothers, Arthur Setzer of Long Beach, Calif., and Fred Setzer of Dennison, Tex.; and one sister, Mrs. Mollie McGlathery of Oklahoma City.
