FAYETTEVILLE---Hil Mahan, 82, of Fayetteville died Sept. 13, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

He was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Bee Branch to Darby Bruce and Alma Latimer Mahan. He retired from the Ozark National Forest in the Lake Wedington District after 25 years and was an army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Springdale.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dunham Mahan; three sons, Richard L. Mahan of Bentonville, Gary J. Mahan of Springfield, Mo., and Paul W. Mahan of Bentonville; two brothers, Alon Mahan of Bee Branch and Jennings Mahan of Damascus; two sisters, Glenna Holland of Morrilton and Sue Nabors of Bee Branch; seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville with Robert A. Bolton and Billy Moore officiating.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Old Whipple Cemetery near Morrilton.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Moore’s. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m.
