*Obituary Newport
Mrs. Vernice McCoy Bishop, 66 of Rt. 2, Weiner, died Friday in a hospital at Birmingham, Ala. She was born in Independence County in 1912 and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors incude a son, Jimmy McCoy of Santa Paula, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Carter of Florence, Ala., and Mrs. Annette Jackson of Grubbs; three brothers, Ronnie Rogers of Sacramento, Calif., James Rogers of Newport and George Rogers of Batesville; two sisters, Mrs. Wanda Lee Edwards of Batesville and Mrs. Josephine Green of Chowchilla, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral sevices were in the Jackson Newport Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. today with J. L. May of Newport officiating. Burial was in the Palsetine cemetery at Hutchinson under direction of the Jackson Newport Funeral Home.
