Ollie Mae Altom, 88, of Floral died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in a local nursing home. Born Aug., 1911, in Bald Knob, she was the daughter of Levi Turner and Effie Sheffer Turner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include three sisters, Lorena Gould, Naomi Lambert and Sylvia Shelton, all of the Hutchinson Mountain community; two grandchildren, Laneal Altom and Melissa Maas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest O. Altom, a son, Ernest Neal Altom, and three brothers, Albert Turner, Virgil Turner and John Turner.
Graveside services was a 2 pm today at Palestine cemetery in the Hutchinson Mountain Community near Floral with Ralph Wallis officiating. Arrangements were by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers were Lanny Barber, Jimmy Hays, Mark Rutledge, Billy Lambert, Ronnie Turner and Josh Stevens.
