Charles Alfred "Alf" Deen the son of Jackson Henry Deen and Lillie Mae (Neal) Deen Head. Betty Lucille (Gates) Deen the daughter of W.E Gates of Gladys Lucille Gates.
WALNUT RIDGE — Charles Alfred Deen, 66, of Walnut Ridge passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Born Nov. 10, 1941, at Sedgwick, the son of Jackson and Lillie Neal Deen, he was a retired factory employee and member of United Free Will Baptist Church.
He was united in marriage to Betty Gates June 28, 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Deen of the home; three sons, Robert Deen of Jacksonville, Robert Dale Deen of Marshall and Frank Deen of Michigan; a daughter, Lisa Deen of Florida; a granddaughter, Kasha Marchbanks; three brothers, Carl Head of Traskwood, Homer Head and Junior Deen, both of Sedgwick; a sister, Patsy Forkum of Paragould; and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in United Free Will Baptist Church at Walnut Ridge with Charles Hendrix and Thomas Lamb officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Waylan Deen, Ricky Forkum, Terry Forkum, Mitchell Kazzee, Tyler Kazzee and Allan Gates.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Abbott, Charles Rickey, Sam Hood, Randy Kazzee, Bobby Neal, Charles Mullins and members of the adult senior Sunday school class.
Interment will be in the Old Military Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.
Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old Military Cemetery, c/o J.S. Fielder, P.O. Box 152, Sedgwick 72465, or a charity of one's choice.

Born January 30, 1941, at O'Kean, AR., daughter of W. E. and Gladys Lucille Gates.
She was a homemaker and member of the United Freewill Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage to Charles Alfred Deen June 28, 1975, who preceded her in death April 23, 2008.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert and Valarie Deen of Harrison, Dale Deen of Marshall and Frankie Deen of Arkansas; a daughter, Lisa Deen of Arkansas; two brothers, Jasper (Skip) and Lou Gates of Marietta, Oklahoma and Ted and Edwina Gates of Walnut Ridge; a sister, Kathy and Ron Kellett of Hoxie; a granddaughter, Kasha Marchbanks of Ash Flat; many other relatives and friends.
