Elsie Rice was born on July 4, 1894, in Faulkner, Arkansas. She married Glen George New on October 17, 1909, in Cleburne, Arkansas. They had ten children in 21 years. She died on March 23, 1984, in Mayflower, Arkansas, at the age of 89.
