Doshie Clara Towner, 96, of Bentonville died Sunday, April 21, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1895 in Indian Territory to John Wells and Missouri Britten Wells. She was a lifetime resident of Benton County. She farmed with her husband and raised cattle for 20 years and worked at a chicken plant for 10 years. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Bentonville and attended God's Light House Church in Bentonville. She was the last of 15 children.
Survivors are her husband, Everett Towner; two stepsons, Richard Towner of Lynwood, Wash., and Raymond Towner of Seattle, Wash.; three stepdaughters, Ruth Reynolds, Ruby Ferguson, and Ollie Drake all of Sacramento, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral is set for 2 p.m. today at Burns Funeral Chapel in Bentonville with the Rev. Leroy Norton and the Rev. Guy M. Whitney Jr. officiating. Burial is to be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.
