WOODS, Mary V. TROUTT - Mrs. Mary V. Woods, one of the oldest residents of this section, died at the family home two miles west of Bentonville late Sunday afternoon, July 26th, after an illness of nearly 10 months, following a stroke of paralysis. Funeral services were conducted from the home Monday by Rev. A.W. Henderson, pastor of the Presbyterian church. The body was laid to rest in the Centerton cemetery by the side of her husband, T. Allen Woods, who died on August 20th, 1921. The funeral was largely attended. Mrs. Woods was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Troutt and was born near Huntsville, Ark. on November 23rd, 1840. With her parents she moved to the vicinity of Bentonville in 1843 or 44, where she grew to womanhood. On her 19th birthday she was married to Allen Woods, the son of Samuel Woods, another pioneer family in this section who located here in 1840. No children were born to this union. Mrs. Woods has lived continuously on the old homestead for 66 years. Mrs. Woods dearly loved her home and rarely left it. It is stated that she has not been off from it for 25 years. She became converted early in life and joined the old Cumberland Presbyterian church in Bentonville.
