CAVE SPRINGS — Vera Lee Edsell, 78, of Cave Springs died May 29, 2006, at her home. She was born July 13, 1927, in Cave Springs to Anderson E. and Fannie Johnson Elliott. She was a charter member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she taught preschool and adult Sunday school, sang in the choir and served on various church committees. She was also church secretary, was active in vacation Bible school and was Lakeview Baptist Church Mother of the Year. She was a past president of the Northwest Arkansas Board of Cosmetology, maintained the trust accounts for the Cave Springs and Mount Hebron cemeteries and served as the election sheriff for Cave Springs. She was a lay hospice volunteer and grand marshall of the 2005 Cave Springs homecoming parade. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Frank Edsell.

Survivors include one son, Ron Edsell of Dallas: one daughter, Linda Crowder of Theodore. Ala.; one brother, Ed Elliott of Rogers; one grandson, Justin Gonzalez of Dallas.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Baptist Church in Cave Springs. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Backstrorn-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Bentonville.
