Memorial Services for Floyd Davis Held at Oxford

Floyd Davis a son of the late Clarence and Mary Davis, was born in Baxter County, Arkansas August 30, 1902 and passed away at his home in West Plains, Mo. January 10, 1963. His death was sudden and unexpected.

He was married May 14, 1922 at Oxford, Arkansas to Miss Ella Tatum who survives him. They were the parents of five children one of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are, J. C. of Kansas City, Mo., Paul of Violet Hill, Howard of St. Charles, Illinois and Deal of Oxford. He is also survived by two brothers, Jay and Ray Davis both of Page, Arizona, one sister, Mrs. Virgie Stain of Mtn. Home; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous other relatives and many friends.

He had been a member of the Methodist Church for 30 years.

Memorial services for the deceased were held at the Oxford Methodist Presbyterian Church Sunday, January 13 at 2:00 pm. Memorial songs, “Nearer My God to Thee”. “Precious Memories” and “I Will Meet You in the Morning” were sung by the Mason family, assisted by Bill Neal at the piano. Burial was in Oxford Cemetery by Carter Funeral Services of Salem, directed by Al and Mae Pameroy.

Casket bearers were: Olen Youngblood, Paul Grills, Noble Rowden, Jackson Morgan, Sterling Sexton and Doyne Gaston.
