Howard H. Hill was born June 3, 1887 at Temple, Texas, the son of Edward Peyton Hill and Mary Ann Level. He departed this life in the Calico Rock Medical Center June 28, 1977 at the age of 90 years and 25 days.
He was united in marriage to Jessie Lee McGinnis in Lockhart, Texas on December 8, 1907. To this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by two sons, Edward hill and Royce Hill.
Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of the home at Oxford, Arkansas, one son, Darrell Hill of Bexar, Arkansas, one daughter Doris Cox of Rusk, Texas, twelve grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and a devoted husband and father.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 30, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oxford Church of Christ with Darrell Everett of Oxford officiating. Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of the Leland Carter Funeral Home of Salem.
Casketbearers were: Noble Rowden, Henry Helm, Arthur Harris, Earl Garner, Zade Garner and Andy Hatman.
