Obituary
John Amen Hill, 77, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas.
He was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on June 11, 1940, son of James Russell and Sally M. (Cole) Hill. John spent his life as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and father. He was united in marriage to Shirley Margaret Lee in Jackson, Tennessee on June 27, 1965. John was an ordained teacher for Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. During his working years he worked as a cook at the Fort Knox Military Base. John loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. He also enjoyed watching the University of Kentucky Wildcats play basketball, Walker Texas Ranger and Wrestling.
John is survived by his wife, Shirley Hill of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; grandsons, Derek Hill of Batesville, Arkansas, Brandon Hill and wife Gabi of Batesville, Arkansas, Jonathan Hill and wife Taylor of Salem, Arkansas, Ronald Hill, Jr of Salem, Arkansas and Timmy Hill of Salem, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Morgan Hill, Maceyn Hill, Evelyn Hill, Braydon Hill, Bridger Hill, Jordan Hill and Braxton Hill; sisters, Pauline Camel, Roxie Grimes and Jonell Downs and brother, Stevie Hill and wife Joan.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Rodney Hill and Ronald Hill; parents, James and Sally Hill and brothers, Sam Hill, Elmer Hill and James Hill.
Pallbearers include: Jonathan Hill, Ronald Hill, Jr, Timothy Hill, Derek Hill and Brandon Hill
Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018 beginning at 4:00 PM with Bro. Stevie Hill officiating at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas.
