Raymond Carl Layne, son of Leonard Layne and Lema Van Pinkston Layne was born August 11, 1926 in Shipps Ferry, Baxter County, Ark., died April 27, 1990 in Searcy, White County, Ark. He and Pauline Grammer were married on August 10, 1946 in Des Arc, Prairie County, Arkansas. They were the parents of 7 children. Raymond was know by Ray or “R.C.” Layne.
[Note: His father Leonard was born Leonard Lane. He changed the spelling of the surname Lane to Layne sometime after the 1930 census.]
