BENTONVILLE — Elmer Theodere Diede, 83, of Bentonville died May 27, 2006, in Bentonville. He was born April 5, 1923, in Scotland, S.D., to Albert and Rose Haeffner Diede. He was a retired lineman for REA and a member of the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Diede of the home; his children Cheryl Davis of Wickenburg, Ariz.; Marcie Spielmann and husband Doug of Madison, S.D.; Janice Thayer and husband Steve of Wickenburg; Gary Diede and wife Linda of Fort Collins, Colo.; Debra Bjork and husband Greg of Fort Collins; his sisters, Phyllis Bell of Wichita, Kan., Inez Chalk of Fort Collins, Velda Pitcher of Metairie, La., and Charlette Barrett of Fort Collins; his brother Ervin Diede of Hastings, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Jim Keith officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial will be in the Coffelt Cemetery at Vaughn.

Memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, c/o Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth Street, Rogers, 72756.
