Mrs. Laverne Sanderlin Rickman, 72, of Crossett, died Friday, August 27, 1999, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock as the result of an automobile accident in Monticello. A native of Monticello, a resident of Crossett for the past 35 years and a former resident of Hamburg, she worked at Murphy Ford in Hamburg for 31 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the North Crossett First Baptist Church, and she was preceded in death by her parents, D.C. and Willie Lee Shelton Sanderlin; and five brothers, Eugene, John Jr., Bo, Billy, and Howard Sanderlin. Survivors are two sons, Dennis Rickman and Steve Listar, both of Crossett; two brothers, Jimmy Sanderlin of Monroe, LA, and Pete Sanderlin of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Lorena Gates and LaNell McKiever, both of Monticello; three grandchildren, Tracy Listar, David and Todd Rickman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 29, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. Adrian Jordan officiating. Pallbearers were her nephews, Larry, Mike, John Olin, John Clifford, Tab, and Jason Sanderlin, Gene Gates, J. Bartley McKiever, Randy McKiever and Lamar Hill. Interment was in the Carlock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Carlock Cemetery c/o Mike Bays, 331 Ashley Road 462, Hamburg, AR 71646; or to the Kidney Foundation of Arkansas, 4942 W. Markham, Little Rock, AR 72205.
