MRS. G.R. CAWTHON DIED ON CHRISTMAS DAY
Mrs. Hattie Cawthon, wife of “Jack” Cawthon a well known resident of this county, died at the home in south Bentonville on Christmas Day. Her death was due to pneumonia following a few days illness. Funeral services were conducted by Elder O.E. Coons and were held at the Miller Church Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made in the cemetery nearby.
Mrs. Cawthon was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Butler and was born in Kansas. Oct. 21, 1900. She with the family moved to Benton County several years ago. Here she married G.R. Cawthon May 31, 1923. She was the mother of eight children. Two a son, Billie aged 9 and a daughter, Bobbie Lee, aged 2, survive her. The father and children are staying with his mother, Mrs. D.W. Cawthon, three miles east of Bentonville.
