Mr. and Mrs. Grant married December 24, 1936. He was a son of John H. and Cora Edwards Grant. He was a Saline County sheriff. She was a daughter of William and Carrie Newcomb James. She was a Saline County educator. Eastside Elementary School in Benton was changed to
Angie Grant Elementary School in her honor after her retirement in 1973.
