Mrs. Sarah J. Buchanan, 74, a resident of 106 N. Willow St., died this morning in a local hospital following an extended illness. She was born Mar. 15, 1895 at Richmond, Va., the daughter of Henry and Ella Jackson, and was a member of the Methodist Church. She was the widow of the Rev. A.L. Buchanan, who was pastor of St. James Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Buchanan of the home; two grandsons, Sylvester Jackson of Fayetteville and Charles Ruffin of Oklahoma.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. James Methodist Church with burial in Oak Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
