Maud was born 5 Jun 1876 to Elias Conway Boswell. He was of English lineage. Her great grandfather on her mother's side was Alvil Jackson, a doctor who came to New Orleans from England. Maud was converted at age 14 and was a member of the First baptist church of Harrison. Maud married Theodore Black 23 Dec 1900. He was a Spanish American War Vet and passed away after 20 years of marriage. Maud died 25 Nov 1959. In 1954 she had been written up as Boone Countian of the week.
