Mrs. Kathelene Carlock, 91, of Hamburg died Monday, May 10, 1999, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Hamburg and a Hamburg resident for the past nine years, she was a former resident of North Crossett and the Pine Hill community, a homemaker and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in North Crossett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Carlock; a son, Bill N. Carlock; a brother, Nick Rosen; and a sister, Angelene Swan. Survivors include one son, Marion Carlock of Browning, MO; three daughters, Josie Mae Ballock of Oxford, AL, Sherry Carol Battaglia of Downsville, LA, and Brenda Neal of Hamburg; a brother, Bennie Rosen of Hamburg; two sisters, Mary Bays of Hamburg and Ellen Hessenbein of Monticello; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, in the First Freewill Baptist Church in North Crossett with Revs. John Reed and Cecil Sanders officiating. Pallbearers were Buster Sayger, Wesley Swan, Andrew Wallace, Burl Toler, Chester Rosen and Harold Dean Bonnette. Burial followed services at the Carlock Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church, P. O. Box F, Crossett, AR 71635 or to the Carlock Cemetery, c/o Mike Bays, 331 Ashley Road 462, Hamburg, AR 71646.
