Major Blackburn Jr., 51, of 310 E. Cleburn died Sunday in a Little Rock hospital. Born Nov. 17, 1917 at Fayetteville, the son of Major and Verna Brown Blackburn, he was a Methodist and former cook at the Delta Delta Delta sorority house.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Louise Blackburn; one son, Larry and his mother, all of the home.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. James Methodist Church with burial in Oak Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.

Mary Louise Blackburn, 79, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Dec. 3, at Fayetteville City Hospital.
She was born Nov. 13, 1913, at Bentonville to Virgil Black and Eula Claypool Black. A homemaker and a domestic worker, she was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Lodge 295. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Blackburn Jr.
Survivors are a son, Larry David Blackburn of Fayetteville; and four sisters, Vera Rice of Omaha, Neb., Laura Black of Los Angeles, and Sophie J. Hall and Roberta Carr, both of Fayetteville.
Cremation. Memorial service will be announced by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
