George W. Thompson was born March 7, 1905, In DeWitt, Arkansas, and departed this life December 2, 1963, at the age of 58. He was a resident of Arkansas County for 53 years. He became a member of the Hagler Baptist Church in 1932 and worked in the church while living at Hagler. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sallie Bonnie Thompson; three sons, Charles Thompson and Arvis Thompson of Pine Bluff and Curtis Thompson of Stratford, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Alice Thompson of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Floyd Thompson and Pitner Thompson, both of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Mrs. Gertie Simpson of Star Route, Stuttgart, Mrs. Mary Jacobs and Mrs. Inez Faulkner, both of DeWitt and Mrs. Mattie Brown and Mrs. Cynthia Horton, both of Pine Bluff. He is also survived by one grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Also Preceeding him in death is one brother, Gilbert Thompson.
