SILOAM SPRINGS-- Murrel Benjamin Steward, 91, of Siloam Springs, died Oct. 22, 2004, at his home in Centerton. He was born Feb. 6, 1913, in Pangburn to James Franklin and Minnie Pryor Steward. He had lived in Northwest Arkansas for nearly 60 years. He was retired from John Brown University, where he worked in maintenance. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Highfill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Riley Steward.
Survivors include one son; four daughters; 12 grandchldren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Highfill Methodist Church. Burial will be in Highfill Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lois Josephine Steward, 62, of Highfill, died Saturday, Feb. 27, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville.
She was born May 14, 1930, at Highfill to Ernest Riley and Helen Jones Riley. A homemaker, she was a lifetime resident of Highfill and a member of the Highfill United Methodist Church and Highfill Methodist Ladies Organization.
Survivors are her husband, Murrel Steward of Highfill; a son; four daughters; a brother; a sister; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral is set for 2 p.m. today at Highfill United Methodist Church. Burial is to be in Highfill Cemetery, under direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
