Woodley Thomas Steward, 59, Rt. 1, Gentry, died Monday in the VA Hospital, Little Rock. Born May 6, 1915 in Pangburn, he was the son of James F. and Minnie Pryer Steward, a member of the Mason Valley Church, veteran of World War II and a farmer. He had lived in Northwest Arkansas for the past 28 years.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Steward, Siloam Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bowser, Wichita, Kan.; eight brothers, Clemmie Steward, Poplar Grove, Guinn Steward, Humboldt, Tenn., Reedus Steward, Bald Knob, John Steward, Jacksonville, Ed Steward, Signal Mountain, Tenn., Frank Steward, Nashville, Tenn., Murrell Steward, Siloam Springs, and Alvin Steward, Sanford, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Beans, Salinas, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Mason Valley Church with the Rev. Bill Wall officiating. Burial will be in Highfill Cemetery, under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
