Calvin 4 Mar 1912 - 10 Sept 2002
Calvin B. Gentry, 90, of Batesville died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at a Batesville hospital.
Born March 4, 1912, in Grant City, Mo., he was the son of Charles E. Gentry and Sarah Combs Gentry. He was a retired master machinist for Bendix, member of the First Baptist Church, member of the Teamsters Union (AFL-CIO) for more than 50 years and member of the Batesville Lions Club. He was in the Batesville Bowling Hall of Fame.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Strickland of Everett, Wash.; a brother-in-law, Bob Parman; a sister-in-law, Helen Parman; and numerous nieces and nephews in Bethany, Mo., Albany, Mo., New Hampton, Mo., and St. Joseph, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rhoda Catherine Parman Gentry; six brothers; and two sisters.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Dr. Gary Buckner officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Coats, Sonny Huddleston, Eddie Cox, Larry Cantrell, Jim Leonard and Don Helm.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
