Landon Tyler Ward, six months old, of Batesville, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on December 13, 2007 at White River Medical Center in Batesville to Joe and Tara Ward.
Daddy's little soldier was always happy and smiling, loved to play, listen to daddy sing, be cuddled and kissed by mommy. Landon looked forward to being strong enough to go riding with pa pa on his mower and big trike. Ma maw and Landon loved to play itsy bitsy spider and little Rae Rae, Aunt Tasha and Landon just loved to play. Rev. Joe F. Wilkerson baptized Landon Tyler Ward on June 16, 2008 at 6:15 p.m. in the presence of his parents, Joe Tara Ward, and grandparents Robby Ward and Jim and Tami Ganzer, Uncle William and aunt Tasha , and friend Robin Pearson. Within moments after the baptism, Landon closed his big blue eyes, and our Lord cuddling Lando in his arms, took him to Heaven. Landon touched so many lives while he was here with us and all of us will remember his big blue eyes and sweet smile and giggles.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Bruno and Marie Hattie Ganzer & great grandma Johnny W. Trammel.
Survivors include his parents Pvt Joseph and Tara Ward of Batesville; Grandparents Ret TSgt James Kenneth & Tamra Lee (Pewtress) Ganzer of Batesville and Robby and Leslie Ward of Manila; Great Grandparents Herbert and Shirley Pewtress of Perry, UT. And many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, June 20, 2008 at First Church with Rev. M.D. Parmley and Chris Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Ward, Scott Hill, William Stone, and Travis Ganzer.
Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Hill, Patrick Stone, and Taylor Holder.
