Dennis the son of Chester J Towell and Opal (Mayfair) Towell. Marvine the daughter of Joseph Ernest Winchester and Esther Lily (Jean) Winchester.

Dennis Theryl Towell, 78, of Pocahontas, formerly of Smithville, died Aug. 6, 2008, at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas.

Born Oct. 20, 1929, in Blodgett, Mo., he was the son of Chester and Mayfair Towell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Smithville. He retired in 1989 as an electronics engineer at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis after 26 years.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Meredith Towell; and a brother, Glenn Towell.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Marvine Towell; a son, Mitchell Towell and wife Candy, St. Louis; a daughter, Denise Towell, Beaufort, Mo.; two brothers, Mel Towell, Jonesboro, and Jim Towell, Norwood, Mo.; and a grandson, Dwayne Michael Towell.

Funeral was Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home at Pocahontas with Nelson Henderson officiating. Burial was in Smithville Cemetery.

Towell, Dennis Theryl passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, AR. Born October 20, 1929 in Blodgett, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mayfair Towell; and sister Meredith Towell.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Marvine Towell; his son, and daughter-in-law Mitchell and Candy Towell of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Denise Towell of Beaufort, MO; grandson, Dwayne Michael Towell of St. Louis, MO; two brothers Mel Towell of Jonesboro, AR and Jim Towell of Norwood, MO and ten nieces and nephews.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean war and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Smithville, AR. He retired in 1989 from his position as an electronics Engineer at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO after 26 years. He and his wife then moved to a small farm in Pocahontas, AR, where he really enjoyed being back in the country. He was greatly loved as a husband, father and grandfather.

Services: Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday. Services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m., in the Chapel of McNABB Funeral Home, with burial following in the Smithville Cemetery in Smithville, AR with Neslon Henderson officiating.

Pocahontas- Anita Marvine Towell, 85, passed away on April 3, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.

Anita was born December 9, 1931 in Smithville, AR to Joseph Ernest and Esther Lily Jean Winchester.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Overland Baptist Church, and Fee Fee Baptist Church. She was a Volunteer Pink Lady at Five Rivers Medical Center. She had a heart of gold and a head of stone. She moved to California to be married and join him as he left to go into the Navy and happily came back to Arkansas to enjoy retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Towell; brother, Jean Winchester; and sister, Lynda Ann Stewart.

She is survived by son, Mitchell (Candy) Towell of Pocahontas; daughter, Denise Towell of Beaufort, MO; grandson, Dwayne Michael Towell of O’Fallon, MO; and sister, Pansy (Tom) Lindsey of Springfield, MO.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1-2 pm at McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral immediately following at 2 pm. Burial in Smithville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to your favorite charity or organization.
