Dixie Jewell Wilson, 82, a resident of Gassville passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the Gassville Nursing Center.
She was born April 19, 1929, at Brockwell, Arkansas to Dan and Nancy Pearalee Standford Hendrix. Ms. Wilson enjoyed camping, fishing and bead crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Wilson; her parents; two sons, Robert and Lloyd Wilson and three daughters, Jetta and Wanda Wilson and Rita Parnell.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Rick Rye of Calico Rock, Randa and Jack Wilson of Gassville, Jeanette Staggs of Pawnie Rock, Kansas and Carmen and Terry Rider of Lindsay, Oklahoma; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lori Wilson of Harrison and James and Lee Wilson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a brother, Leon Taylor of Norfork; two sisters, Martha Farris of Mountain Home and Etta Lee Patterson of Peoria, Illinois; 18 grandchildren, Billy Wilson of Gassville, Randy Wilson of Cabot, April Stacey of Midway, Jennifer Brett of Cabot, Ambrea Cox of Culp, Donna Thomson of Calico Rock, Bonnie Henson of Calico Rock, Marci Wilson of Melbourne, Vernon Kurtz of Denver, Pennsylvania, Dalton and James Kurtz, both of Downing, Missouri, Bridget Larson of Woodward, Oklahoma, Desi Ray Staggs of Great Bend, Kansas, Christopher Staggs of Hutchinson, Kansas, Linda Taylor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Janice Taylor of Edmond, Oklahoma, Erica Daigh of Harrison and Ashley Royer of Mountain Home; numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ron Childress officiating. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery in Norfork under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Brett, Billy Wilson, Randy Wilson, Robert Thomson, Carl Henson and Calvin Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
