Ressie - October 16, 1913 - November 4, 2006

Ressie Mildred (Lane) Fendley was born October 16, 1913, to Thomas Alexander and Winifred (Winnie) Cotton Lane. She passed away November 04, 2006 at her home in Leslie at the age of 93.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Garney “Jiggs” Fendley, and five brothers, Milford, Clarence, Clyde, Emmett, and Dewey Lane.

Ressie is survived by eight children, Claude, Carolyn, and Herbert of Pine Bluff, Gordon of Conway, Jack of Little Rock, Fred of Leslie, Yvonne Ragland of Harrison, and Jan Kyle of Leslie, sixteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Ressie and Garney owned and operated Fendley Produce Company and Economy Market and Grocery store for many years in Leslie. Ressie was a very good cook and many school students and adults have enjoyed meals at her home.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6th, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Roller Coffman Chapel in Marshall.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Leslie First Baptist Church where Ressie was a member for 53 years. Bro. Wylie Hardin and Bro. Joe Bagwell officiating.

Burial will be at Elberta Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Leslie First Baptist Church P.O. Box 336, Leslie, AR. 72645 or Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 800 Marshall Street Box 661, Little Rock, AR. 72202
