Beloved wife, mother, sister, Katherine (Kathy) Long, 54 of Leslie, AR passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005 in Little Rock, AR. She was born in Leslie April 21, 1950 to Jack and Ruth Gibbs. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Jack and Ruth Gibbs; grandparents, Manual and Sara Dona Gibbs, and Dolph and Sara Hurley; and two baby sisters. Kathy is survived by husband, Paul (Toby) Long of Leslie, AR; daughter, Shawna Gail Bramlett of Conway, AR; and future son-in-law, Shane Waller, also of Conway, AR; a stepdaughter, Deanna Foll and her husband Barton of Plesant Grove, AR; a stepson, Mark Long and his wife, Michelle of Mt. View, AR; three step granddaughters and one step grandson. Kathy is also survived by nine sisters and their husbands, Peggy and Larry Sparks of Conway, AR; Ann Koonce of Leslie, AR; Inez (Pat) and Gary Kuykendall of Conway, AR; Esther and Bob Wimberly of North Little Rock, AR; Willeen and Darrall Yielding of Perryville, AR; Charlene and Dale Dawson of Grove, OK; Jackie and Clifton Henry of Marshall, AR; Betty and Ralph Calvert of Tulsa, OK; Mary Jane and Herbert Mays of Tulsa OK. She is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Eugene and Louise Gibbs of Leslie, AR; and Robert and Carol Gibbs of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews, and friends.
The funeral services will be Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 10 am at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, AR. Reverend Mace Straubel will be officiating. Assisting will be Norman Moyer and Ronnie Housley. The Leslie Quartet will sing. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 pm at Roller Coffman Funeral Home Marshall. Burial will be in Elberta Cemetery. Pallbearers are Darrell Mainord, Jim Adams, Ray Barnes, Roger Massey Greg Massey, and Ronnie Housley. Honorary Pallbearers are her nephews.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers and gifts please send donations to the American Cancer Society in the memory of Kathy Long. Kathy retired after 17 years of service with the Northwest Regional Housing Authority and she will be missed dearly by her many family, friends and former co-workers.www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/marshall
