Nora Laverne Thomas James, age 89, of Hill Creek Community, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010. She was born in Springfield, Arkansas; the daughter of Leonard Thomas and Medie McCraven Thomas. She was also the widow of Carl James, a homemaker, and the oldest living member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Nell Dunn and son-in-law Bradley of Hill Creek Community; grandchildren, Kay and husband Reece Lancaster of Joplin, Missouri, and Kathy Jo Dunn of Hill Creek Community; great-grandchildren, Brandy Lancaster of Lawrence, Kansas; Brooke and Drew Lancaster of Conway; great-great-granddaughter, Audrey Lancaster.
