PARKIN -- Leafy Lucas Wooten, 90, of Parkin died Tuesday, Jan. 21, at CrossRidge Community Hospital in Wynne.
Born in Alabama, she was a homemaker and an active member of the Parkin First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was active in the Women's Missionary Union. She worked as a clerk in the former Baddour's Dry Goods store in Parkin.
Survivors include three daughters, Johnnie Powers of Newport, Ann Scott of Las Vegas and Mary Jo Givens of Greenwood, Miss.; one sister, Tommie Bailey of Forrest City; one brother, Dean Lucas of Parkin; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alexander Wooten, and one daughter.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne, with the Rev. Rodney Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne.
Pallbearers will include Tom Dillard, David Lucas, Bruce Powers, Richard Roberts, Paul Scott and Erik Spencer.
Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Jerry Frankum, Cecil Lucas and Mike Lucas.
Memorials may be made to the Parkin First Baptist Church.
