Barbara Jean Brooks Ritter, 62, of Altus died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial at Nichols Chapel Cemetery in Altus under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. She is survived by her husband, Hugh; a daughter, Dana Deen of Altus; three sons, Bob and Larry Brooks, both of Altus, and Randall Brooks of Greenville, S.C.; two sisters, Rita Barbour and Charlotte Chamberlain, both of Ozark; a brother, Jimmy Hutchison of Altus; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Vessie Torix, Brian Hutchison, Dabo Coley, Billy Holt, Alan "Doc" Walker and William "Cowboy" Pullen. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Times Record Online
