Obituary - South Missourian News
December 29, 2005

Brian Allen Flood, 30, of West Plains, MO, was born Sept. 12, 1975 in West Plains, the son of Allen Flood and Nova Ellison Flood Morgan. He died Dec. 18, 2005.
He graduated high school in 1993. Shortly after graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His first base was Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. This major transition was made easy for this down-home boy from West Plains in part from his uncle Kenny and Aunt Jeanette, who were stationed at the same base. After serving in the Air Force, Flood returned home to be with his family and friends. In 1988 he met his future wife, Jodi. They married Aug. 11, 2001. Brian and Jodi grew as one as they welcomed their first child into the world, Keely Dawn on June 19, 2002. Throughout Flood's life, he had a passion for hot rods whether it was watching them race down the drag strip or building one from the ground up. The love of fast cars was instilled in him from the time he was a little boy. Brian and his older brother, Jimmy spent a lot of time with their uncles and cousins, learning the tricks and trades of cars. Other than cars, Brian's greatest passion was shooting bows. He attended numerous bow shoots in Missouri and surrounding states. His last job was working for Mike Swink. Mr. Flood took great pride in cars and the great outdoors, but his greatest accomplishment in life was his daughter, Keely, whom he loved with all of his heart.
Survivors include his wife, Jodi; one daughter, Keely of West Plains, MO; his mother, Nova and step-father, Gene Morgan, of Pomona, MO; his father, Allen Flood of West Plains, MO; three sisters, Christy 'Sissy' Morgan of Mountain Grove, MO; Shanna Moss and husband Greg, of West Plains, MO; and Milissa Battles and husband Wendall, of Chattanooga, TN; his grandparents, Duane and Peggy Flood of Lanton, MO; and Clifford and Maggie Morgan of Franklin, NC; a very special great-aunt, Marge Baty, of Lanton, MO; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces cousins and friends. He had family and friends along the Arkansas/Missouri border near Lanton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James 'Jimmy' Flood; an uncle, Larry Hensley; grandparents, Lester and Ruby Ellison and Christine Morgan; and great-grandparents; Granny and Pa Baty.
The funeral service was Dec. 22 at Rose Chapel with Rev. Richard Robinson officiating. Arrangements were by Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
