Otto the son of Merdia and Ola (Maxwell) Dixon. Emma the daughter of William and Mary Elizabeth Williams Franklin.


WALNUT RIDGE, AR–EMMA LUCINDA DIXON, 96, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of Smithville, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. Born Dec. 4, 1904 in Smithville, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Franklin.

She was married to Henry Otto Dixon in 1920. He preceded her in death Sept. 1965.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, W. M. Dixon of Smithville, and Brice Franklin Dixon of North Port, Fla.; one daughter, Dulene Wells of Imboden, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Gene Dixon and Devone Dixon; two brothers, Lucian Franklin and Rudy Franklin; two sisters, Mollie Stokes and Fannie Ratliff; and one grandson, Earl Clements Jr.

Services were Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Higginbotham Chapel. Burial was in the Townsend Cemetery in Smithville, with arrangements under the direction of the Higginbotham Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, Ark.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Randy Dixon, Nolan Dixon, Don Clements, Michael Dixon, Preston Clark, a nd Greg Bunn. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Gary Horn, Jerry Carr, Garylon Pierce, Myron Cole, and Todd Emison.
