Edwin "Stan" Atkinson, age 79, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010. He was born November 5, 1930, in Wooster, Arkansas, a son of John Arthur Atkinson and Claircy Bernice Stanton. He was a member of Portland Missionary Baptist Church and retired mechanic for Coca Cola.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Atkinson of Boerne, Texas and Garry Atkinson of Morrilton; one brother, C.D. Atkinson of Conway; five grandchildren, Shane Atkinson, Shannon Autrey, Jacob, Kaitlin and Kelsey Atkinson; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Lindy Davis officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery near Wooster, by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
