Helen Louise Hart Atkinson, age 86, was called to her heavenly home on May 31, 2018 at Heritage Inn Retirement Center in Clarksville, Arkansas, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born at home in Bono Community, Arkansas on March 30, 1932 to the late Emory Hart and Ella Polk Hart. A lifelong resident of Faulkner County, Helen married Cleties David (C.D.) Atkinson, raised two sons and earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree from University of Central Arkansas, Conway. She worked as a teacher and guidance counselor for over 30 years in area schools until her retirement. Helen loved God and was a devout Christian and member of Central Baptist Church in Conway. She took every opportunity to share her faith with others, even while battling declining health for many years.

Helen is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, C.D. Atkinson, who went to be with his Lord and Savior in 2013. Helen is survived by two sons Lindell D. Atkinson, Sr. (Kathy) of Conway, Arkansas and Stephen K. Atkinson (Felecia) of Clarksville, Arkansas; brother Larry Hart (Barb) of Conway; five grandchildren Lindell, Jr. Atkinson (Rhonda) of Conway, Lisa Atkinson-Lacy (John) currently of Namibia, Africa, Jason Atkinson of Clarksville, Lee Atkinson of Greenbrier and Josh Atkinson of Clarksville; three great-grandchildren Bailee Atkinson, Carlee Atkinson and Brody Atkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Bonnie and brothers Russ, Dink, Eldon and infant Edwin.

The family acknowledges the fine staff of Heritage Inn Retirement Center in Clarksville, AR for providing excellent care for Helen and also Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Greenbrier. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Roller-McNutt Chapel, Greenbrier, AR, followed by interment at the Bethlehem Cemetery at Shady Grove with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Pall bearers will be Terry Hart, Jeff Hart, Lindell Atkinson, Jr., Jason Atkinson, Lee Atkinson and Josh Atkinson.

Cleties David (C.D.) Atkinson, age 84, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013, in Conway, Arkansas after a short illness. He was born October 7, 1928, in Wooster, Arkansas, the son of the late John Arthur and Bernice Stanton Atkinson.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Louise Hart Atkinson; two sons, Lindell D. Atkinson, Sr. (Kathy) of Conway, AR and Stephen Keith Atkinson (Felecia) of Clarksville, AR; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Emery, Bill and Stanton Atkinson.

A life-long resident of Faulkner County, C.D. worked at International Shoe Company and also at Horton Gas Station before working until retirement at the Arkansas Children’s Colony. He loved God, his Church (where he served for many years as a Deacon) his family, fishing, and sports.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Lindell, Jason, Lee, Josh, John, and Jim Atkinson. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery at Shady Grove with Bro. Don Chandler, Bro. Jim Atkinson, and Father T.J. Hart officiating.
