James Elbert Sears, 67, of Clarksville died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, in a convalescent home. He was born January 27, 1937, in Ozone. He was a retired mechanic and the widower of Hazel Sears.

Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hedgeway Church with burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

He is survived by two daughters, a son, three sisters, four brothers, four gandchildren and five great-grandchilren.

Mrs. Hazel Jean Sears, 59, of Clarksville died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock.

She was a member of Mt. Vernon Community Church, retired Tyson employee, daughter of the late Willie Hylton and Bessie Hatchett, and was preceded in death by one sister, Anita Bible.

Survivors include her husband, James Sears; two daughters, Teresa Bostwick and Tamara Jones, both of Clarksville; one son, Craig Sears of Clarksville; four sisters, Janice Burns of Amarillo, Texas, Betty Brown of Washington, Rita Borne of Knoxville, and Glenda Glasscock of Clarksville; three brothers, Bob Hylton and Jerry Hylton, both of Clarksville, and Michael Hylton of Arkoma, Okla.; four grandchildren, Nathan Bostwick, Chenoa Carey, Michael Joyner, and C. J. Sears; and one great-grandchild, Ashley Joyner.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos E. Pledger officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mark Pratt, Johnny Einert, Bill Holt, Stan Einert, Leonard Kimbriel, and Clinton Holland.
