Daughter of Allen & Margaret Langston Whitfield.
Married Reuben Ewell Breckenridge Ivie, August 4, 1895, Fulton County, Arkansas.

Mrs. Tennessee Ivie Died Near Here Wednesday.

Mrs. Tennessee Ivie, life-long resident of this vicinity, died at the home of her son, Allen Ivie, near Pineville, Wednesday morning, January 17, 1945. Her death was not unexpected as she had been in failing health for the past several weeks.

Deceased was 75 years of age. She was born near Iuka, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Whitefield, who settled in that community in 1850. She was married to Ewell Ivie, who preceded her in death by 27 years. Mrs. Ivie united with the Baptist Church early in life and remained a devout Christian the remaining years of her life. She was loved and esteemed by all who knew her.

Surviving, are five sons, Allen, Roy and Irvin Ivie of Pineville; Owen Ivie of McAlester, Okla., and Pvt. Elmer Ivie, stationed at Camp Howze, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Sophonia Sanders of Calico Rock, Mrs. Mary Moody of Pineville and Mrs. Alice Clark of Cash, Ark.; and three brothers, Rev. Y. Whitfield of Pineville, J. M. Whitfield of North Little Rock, Ark., and Casey Whitfield of Lenexa, Kansas.

Funeral services, to be held at Cross Roads today (Friday) at 2:00 p.m., will be in charge of Rev. J. M. Rush. Burial will be in Wise Chapel cemetery.
