Mrs. Martha Elizabeth (Lizzie) Groves, 86, of Rt. 2 died early Tuesday morning in the home of her son, Hermon E. Groves after a brief illness. Mrs. Groves was born August 1, 1881 in Wingate, N.C., the daughter of Clarissa Nash and John Williams. She had lived in the El Dorado area since the age of eight and was a member of the Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church. Other than her son she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ruth McMan of Fordyce; Mrs. C. N. Lusby of Camden; Mrs. J. F. Ree of Marshall, Tex.; three brothers, J. B. Williams, J. W. Williams, and T. E. Williams, all of El Dorado; 3 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The body will be taken Tuesday to the home of Hermon E. Groves, Rt. 2, and will remain there until time of service which will be announced by Young's. (El Dorado Times - December 26, 1967)
