Born January 25, 1928.
Died July 21, 2000, Taylor County, Texas.
Daughter of Walter Malone Flannagan & Ollie Travis Flannagan.
Married (1) Bill Hackney.
Married (2) Richard Workman, 1965.
The Abilene Reporter-News, Abilene, Texas, July 22, 2000:
Helen Flannagan Workman, 72, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at a local nursing center.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Hawley Cemetery with the Rev. Spencer Wagley officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Workman was born in Abilene and graduated from Elmdale High School. She was an Abilene resident most of her life, and retired from the Cedar Hill School District where she was a cook. She married Richard Workman in 1965; he preceded her in death in 1985. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include five sons, Bobby Hackney, Jimmy Hackney, Eddie Hackney, Ronnie Hackney, Donald Hackney, all of Houston; one brother, Robert "Red" Flannagan of Clyde; one sister, Gayle Drake of Clyde; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
