Arthur Thomas Sexton son of Thomas Harrison Sexton and Mary Emmaline Goddard Sexton. Arthur Thomas Sexton was born in Rombauer, Butler County, Missouri. He died in Mountain Home, Baxter County, Arkansas. Mary Edith (Albright) Sexton daughter of Lambert F Albright and Beatrice Leadaband Albright. Mary Edith (Albright) Sexton born in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois. She died in Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas.

Arthur Thomas Sexton, 92, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died Jan. 12, 2008, at the Hospice House in Mountain Home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1915, the son of Thomas Harrison and Mary Emmaline Goddard Sexton in Rombauer, Mo.

He served in the United States Army during World War II and after his service he worked at Allis Chalmers for many years. He was a member of the Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: four sons, John Sexton of Vista, Calif., Ralph Sexton of DeKalb, Ill., Gary Sexton of Alburn, Ill., and Wayne Sexton of Virden, Ill.; one daughter, Julia Finley of Jefferson City, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Mary Sexton; one daughter, Susan Farris; and three brothers, Henry, Jim and Pete.

Funeral services were held Jan. 16 at the Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church with Bro. Frank Wise and Bro. Eric Ertle officiating.

Interment was held at the Violet Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dava-Leigh Wilson, Jennifer Sexton, Angie Howe, Chad Sexton, Jason Sexton, Kelli Reed, Candi Sexton and Jeff Sexton. Honorary pallbearers were the grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mid South Division, 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 300 Birmingham, AL 32505.

Mary Edith Sexton, 86, of Horseshoe Bend died June 2, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of the late Lambert F. and Beatrice Leadaband Albright. She was married to Arthur Sexton on Jan. 29, 1938, and to this union five children were born.

HORSESHOE BEND -- Mary Edith Sexton, 86, of Horseshoe Bend died Friday, June 2, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Born Feb. 5, 1920, in Springfield, Ill., she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horseshoe Bend.

Visitation is tonight from 6-8 at the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service is Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Horseshoe Bend with Bro. Frank Wise officiating. Burial is at Violet Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are by Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
