Thomas J. Greer, aged 79, died at his home near Chidester Wednesday night. Mr. Greer who was a farmer during most of his working life was a native of Tennessee. He moved to Arkansas in 1919, and had been living near Chidester for 14 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Greer; four sons, WIlliam Greer of Many, La., Paul Greer of El Dorado, Marvin and Wilson Greer both of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Milos Greer of Chidester, Mrs. Floyd Davis of Prescott, Mrs. Aubrey Woodall of Little Rock, Mrs. Millard Sarrett of Marshall, Texas, and Mrs. Glen Greer of Newton, Texas; three brothers, D. L. Greer of Charlotte, Tenn., Bob Greer of Dickson, Tenn., and Earl Greer of San Antonio, Texas; 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church in Chidester, conducted by Rev. H. R> Nabors, and Rev. Elmo Knoch. Burial will be in the Bluff City Cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. The body was returned to the home Thursday afternoon to remain until service time. Grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
