She was born in Long Beach, CA to Edward and Velma Stover. She graduated from Holland Hall in Tulsa, OK. She attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She married Neil R. Sparks, Jr. on June 25, 1960 and accompanied him to many duty assignments during his service in the US Navy. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side.
She was blessed with a warm and loving family and many, many loving, loyal, and wonderful friends. She was known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. "Some people say funny things and some people say things funny." That was Kay.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille "Lucy" Stover Foster, and her parents Ed and Velma Stover.
She was a voracious reader and avid supporter of the Fayetteville Public Library. She loved playing Mah Jongg with her friends. She was an active member of the Fayetteville Newcomer's Club, The Rural Builders Association, Several Book Groups, and Q.U.I.L.T. Guild of Northwest Arkansas.
