Gus T. Hodge, age 55, of Camden Route 2, died at his home at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Hodge was born in Hot Springs County, July 22, 1899. He had been living in Ouachita County for the past eight years. He has been employed at the O. K. Grocery in Cullendale for the past six years. He was a member of the Cullendale Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Cook Hodge; one son, Dr. Douglas R. Hodge of the U. S. Navy stationed in San Francisco, Calif., and by his father, G. W. Hodge of Lowell, Ark. Funeral services will be held at the Cullendale Baptist church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. Harold Coble. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Active bearers are Cecil Gray, R. R> Ross, Woodrow Nutt, Bert Hilderbrand, Clifford Goza, and Harland Lusby. Honorary bearers are members of the men Sunday School class of adult 3 department of the Cullendale Baptist Church, and O. E. Carden, and Dr. P. J. Dalton. His bod was taken to the home this afternoon. (Camden News - January 17, 1955)
