Evelyn Sue Elser, 62, of Altus, Arkansas died on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on November 30, 1945, in Altus, Arkansas, to the late Dewey Mitchell and Evelyn (O'Neal) Faubus. She was a homemaker, loved doing crafts and making quilts, and she fought an extended battle with cancer.

Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Mary Holsapple of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sons, Mark Elser of Altus, Arkansas and Mitchell Elser of Clarksville, Arkansas; three sisters, Carolyn Hall of Independence, Missouri, Linda Bean of Henrietta, Oklahoma, and Delores Collins of Van Buren, Arkansas; four brothers, Larry Post of Independence, Missouri, William Post of Europe, Missouri, Roger Drinkard and Donald Drinkard, both of Jefferson City, Missouri; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her best friend, Ooney Elser.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Herman Joseph Elser.

The funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus, Arkansas, with Father Hillary Filiatreau, celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, in Altus, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Danny Elser, Johnny Wayne Elser, Clifton Carpenter, Mike Shelton, Dutch Houston, and Jimmy Harris.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Julius Rofkahr, Matt Post, James Rofkahr, Leonard Rofkahr, JR., and Brince Plymale.
