Thomas W. “Tooter” Williams, 85, of Ash Flat passed away on Friday, August 4, 2006 in Melbourne.
He was born June 26, 1921 in Franklin and was the son of Richard and Nancy (Beaver) Williams. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hardy and a 45 year member of the Joiner Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a member of the Dyess Lodge #734 for 58 years and a member of the Scottish Rite: William Nash Temple in West Memphis. He was a retired ginner and Maintenance Supervisor for Gilstar Marylee Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Mann) Williams of Ash Flat; sons: Thomas E. Williams of Cave City, J.R. “Dickie” Williams of Ashdown, Ken “Cotten” Williams of Ash Flat; daughters: Mary Frances McAnally of West Memphis, Carolyn McFatridge of Cherokee Village; brother, Roger Williams of Huntington, TN; Sisters: Ruby Neal Rooker of Plantersville, MS, Geraldene Standford of Bartlett, TN; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, one great-granddaughter and five sisters.
Pallbearers will be Joe McLemore, Mike Stevens, Bruce Davis, Mike Taylor, Jason Barnett and Norman McAnally. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Wilson, Kenneth Shannon, Dickie Speck and Billy Bennett.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Monday at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Cain Wheeler officiating.
Visitation was from 2-5 PM on Sunday.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Violet Hill by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne. (870)368-4540)
