RIFE, William Benjamin - William Benjamin Rife was born in Benton county, Ark. Nov. 27, 1880 and died at Clovis, New Mexico July 16, 1910. He finished his common school education at the age of sixteen and at the age of eighteen entered the University of Arkansas, graduating there in 1903. After his graduation he taught school for five years. While teaching at Paris, Ark. he lost his health and for two years has been in the West trying to recover. Some three months ago his friends were convinced that he could not recover since which time they have watched and waited until the end came. His mother was with him during his last illness to comfort and help him. Will was always a good, honest, truthful boy. He loved the right but not until some three months before his death did he profess faith in Christ. He suffered long but it is all over now. He leaves a mother, sister, brother, grandfather and many others to mourn for him. May the grace of God sustain them in this hour of sorrow. The funeral was conducted by the writer at the family residence near Osage Mills. A large company of friends were there to show respect to one they had loved. After the funeral the body was taken to the cemetery at Temperance Hill and there beside his loved ones we laid his body to rest. R.E.L. Bearden.
