Fred Pharris
Fred Pharris, 80, of Route 6, Huntsville, died Oct. 11, 1983, at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1902 at Loy, the son of Sam H. and Sarah Malone Austin Pharris. He was a farmer and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rosie Casteel Pharris of the home; one son, Freddie Hugh Pharris of Hindsville; three daughters, Mrs. Jannie Marie Rogers of Wichita Falls, Tex., Mrs. Billie Jo Parker of Huntsville and Mrs. Hazel Louise Frisby of Springdale; three sisters, Mrs. Vesta Whorton, Mrs. Verna Eden and Mrs. Jannie Burress, all of Bartlesville , Okla.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the chapel of the Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Garrison and the Rev. Jimmie Spurlock officiating. Burial was in the Huntsville Cemetery under direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Oren Austin, Omer Austin, Buster Austin, Carroll Douthit, Shane Pharris and Garthe Parker.

SPRINGDALE---Rosie Francis Pharris, 90, of Springdale died Aug. 27, 2001, at Fayetteville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 31 ,1911, in Mountainburg to Willie Henry and Dialphia Wilson Casteel. She was retired from the food service department of the Huntsville public school system and was a Free Will Baptist. She was the widow of Fred Pharris, who died Oct. 11, 1983.
Survivors include one son, Freddie Hugh Pharris of Springdale; three daughters, Janie Marie Rogers of Wichita Falls, Texas, Billie Joe Falkner of Huntsville and Hazel Louise Frisby of Springdale; one brother, Samuel Dave Casteel of Springdale; one sister, Mamie Kennedy of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. Jim Spurlock and the Rev. Shane Pharris officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane Pharris, Garthe Parker, Paul Beagle, Eric Douthit, Michael Douthit and Herman Frisby.
